Thursday afternoon, one missed call, message;

“Hi Louise, sorry but the weather conditions aren’t good for Saturday. Can we rebook your jump for Friday?”

Phone back;

“Can’t do Friday”

“How about Sunday?”

Arrive, excited, at the air field for 3pm, didn’t take a book, big mistake! . . . . . .5pm, sorry, but we have to be off the air field at 6 and you’re not going to get to jump today. The following weekend was the Airtattoo. This was about the point I started to wonder if I would ever get to jump! Finally a date was set.

Sunday 6 am

Get up, walk the dog, get dressed, eat breakfast, hop in car, drive to Cirencester, remembered a book! 8.30am, arrive at the air field, sign in. 9.30, briefing on equipment, safety and what to expect! 1pm, text Claire and Michelle, not gunna make our cycle trip Bristol to Bradford on Avon! 1.30.

MY TURN!!!!

Get kitted up, practice free fall position, get into van, drive up air strip, wait for plane to finish fuelling up, wait for plane, wait for plane, and wait for plane, Hurrah!!!! Plane arrives! Jump into plane, get squished with everyone in the plane, fly to 12,000 feet, watch first six people fly out...........Thought......WHAT am I doing?!?! Move towards, a perfectly good plane’s open door, still in flight, still moving, still 12,000 feet above sea level, smile at the camera, lean head back, Instructor gives the nod, and that’s it!

Ground soooooooo far down, clouds, look no hands!!
